Chemical Technologist

You discovered a deviation in the flow rate and viscosity of a complex liquid formulation during the production process. With your deep understanding of fluid dynamics and process control, you quickly identified a malfunctioning pump as the root cause. Then you promptly coordinated with the maintenance team, repaired the pump, and optimised the operating parameters to restore the desired flow rate and viscosity. Your keen attention to detail and technical expertise ensured the integrity of the production process, upholding stringent quality standards of Interchemie as a global veterinary pharmaceutical manufacturer.

Your Position

Welcome to our team! As chemical technologist at Interchemie you will combine your chemistry knowledge with your practical nature. At the biggest pharmaceutical producer of Estonia you are a member of our expert chemical technologist team. As a respected colleague you are responsible for one to three production batches a day. Sometimes you will work in a sterile environment, but always in a clean room. You will help produce liquids and powders according to GMP and GLP standards.

As much as we respect and need the colleagues who continuously engineer our production and equipment. Where would they be without the day-to-day work of the chemical technologists team? You are paramount for the successful production of more than 120 veterinary medicines which are exported to 100+ countries.

As a chemical technologist, you’ll be responsible for meticulously documenting each step in the production protocol, ensuring accurate records of batch numbers, raw material quantities, and process parameters. Adhering to GMP requirements and following established procedures, you’ll carefully handle raw materials based on the first-in, first-out principle and weigh and mix them precisely according to production protocols and recipes. Your role also includes stock accounting and supervision, collaborating with warehouse colleagues to maintain accurate inventory and availability. Additionally, you’ll perform equipment checks, monitoring the working condition of reactors, mixing tanks, and filtration equipment, and promptly addressing any deviations or abnormalities observed. Calibration of measurement devices and equipment will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring accuracy and reliability in critical parameter measurements. Throughout the production process, you’ll monitor critical process parameters such as temperature, pressure, pH, viscosity, flow rate, and concentration, recording and analysing data to identify and correct deviations. Your commitment to compliance, documentation, and maintaining open communication with the production manager will contribute to optimal process efficiency and product quality.

We offer a challenging position that provides room for growth and development. As an essential function where “ownership” and “responsibility” are key, your independence and professionalism will be highly valued. Also, if you don’t have prior experience as a chemical technologist we welcome your application; what we value most is your chemical bachelor’s or master’s degree. If you have this as minimum foundational knowledge you’ll learn the rest on the job.
